Brake solutions

For Fast Street and occasional track day use it is not necessary to
change the hardware (disks and callipers) on your Alfa.
The rule is that you can only brake as hard as the tyres
let you. With other words a lock up is a
lock up and that is your maximum. So running on street tyres you will
get the same results by using good brake pads, new disks, racing brake oil and
Teflon brake linings. Of course temperature still can be a problem and a
full race AP Lockheed will perform better in this field. But for the
occasional track day it’s still sufficient using the standard equipment. We have 2
different brake
solutions. For our instruction cars we use solution number one because
it’s
both cost efficient, lasts a long time and important, has great brake
performance. For short circuits and stop-and-go tracks we recommend solution 2.
When using these pads it’s necessary to have air ducts to cool the
callipers and disks.
