Anti
Roll Bars
Sway bars or Anti roll bars (different name for the same device) are there
for reducing or regulating the body roll in the vehicle.
Since the suspension system on our transaxles is setup by the Alfa Romeo
factory for everyday traffic, the used dimensions on the anti roll bar results
in a modest anti roll effect. This way the car is comfortable and can be
driven in both dry and wet weather conditions with or without passengers.
This handling is not preferable for track day or dedicated fast street usage.
Body roll is something that feels slow and in fact is slowing you down while
cornering. Because of
body
roll the corner weights on each wheel will be different and thus overall
cornering forces will be reduced. Also the wheel alignment is badly influenced
by body roll and this too will result in bad behavior.
For fast driving on flat and dry tarmac, you want to minimise body roll
so the car’s weight distribution is minimal and therefore the overall
grip is maximized.
We supply anti roll bars in 28 and 30mm. The 30mm bar will cause you to
lift the inside wheel under hard cornering on a banked corner. We recommend
the 28mm bar for 4 cylinder alfa's and for street use. If you want to have
the best performance on the track or drive the more nose heavy V6, than
the 30mm is your best option.

Polyurethane

If
you mount one of our anti roll bars you should also renew your bushings.
You can use the original bushings we supply, or you can change the complete
system with a uniball linkage.
Polyurethane bushing each Euro 12,-
Centre dion axle unibal kit
Also if you have the opportunity to buy the kit from Alfa Romeo, the original
outer shell doesn't always fit. It sometimes needs rework by a machine
shop.
Our set includes ball joint, housing in aluminum, fillup bushes and bearring.
So everything complete and no missing parts.
This modification makes sense if you also change the watt linkage for the
uniball type as well. Only from the centre dion you will not notice a big
change in handling. Exept if the replaced rubber was totally worn out of
course.
Centre dion axle unibal kit Euro 129 for the
set
